Job Search

Use the job search tool

We are likely to be recruiting for a number of different positions at any one time so to find a suitable position you can use the ‘Job search’ tool.

Modify the search fields

Enter the location/job type you are interested in and click ‘Search’.

Click on the relevant job title

Jobs matching your search criteria will be displayed in the box. To view or apply for a specific job, click on the relevant job title. If you are interested in more than one position, you can add the positions to your ‘Job cart’ and view them later.

Creating an Account

If you are likely to apply to a number of vacancies over a period of time or would like to access your application status or save documents such as your CV, you will need to create an account and sign in:

  • New visitors click ‘Create a new account’. Fill in your personal details ensuring that all contact details are accurate. Click ‘Sign in’.
  • Returning visitors enter your email address and password and click ‘Sign in’.

To view the status of your application, ensure you are signed in and click ‘View my account’ and then ‘View application status’. This will be updated as your application is processed.

Apply

Once you have found a suitable position, click “Apply now”. You will then be asked to input contact details and your CV or application form. You may also be asked additional questions relating to your skills, qualifications and experience.

From this point the process may differ depending on the position you are applying for, you will be required to complete an application form for certain positions and submit a CV for others. When prompted either copy and paste or upload the application form or your CV into the relevant field . At this point you can also attach additional documents that you feel may support your application.

Review your application and click ‘Submit’.

We will acknowledge receipt of your application within 24 hours of receiving it.

Application Form

Should an application form be required for your chosen job, you will need to follow the link ‘Click here to download application form’ found within the job advert. This will open the application form in a separate Word document. After completing and saving the form to your computer, return to your job application and copy and paste or upload your application form in place of your CV.

Bell is committed to the safeguarding of children and the safe recruitment of those staff who work with our young learners. As such we require all such applicants to fill out an application form in order to ensure we have an up-to-date, common set of data for all staff. We are happy to accept CVs in addition to the application form, however, please note, a CV alone will not constitute a job application. Download an application form for a Young Learner role.

Selection for Interview

Your application will be assessed against set criteria and we will contact you within four weeks to let you know whether you have been shortlisted for interview.


Please be aware that whilst we aim to contact every candidate, if you have not heard from us within four weeks, please assume that your application was unsuccessful at this time.

Interview

Depending on the role and your location, the interview may take place via telephone or face-to-face.

Whilst the format of the interview may change from role to role, it will always give you the opportunity to learn more about the role and the organisation and for us to assess your suitability for the position. 

Interviews may consist of a task to help us assess your suitability for the role, you will be informed of this prior to the interview. Interviews may consist of more than on stage.

Offer

At the end of the interview we will go through the next steps. We aim to contact candidates within four weeks of the interview. If you are successful, we will send you an offer of employment that will outline the role, salary, dates and any other relevant information. Please make sure that you let us know if you would like to accept as soon as possible in writing.

If your application is unsuccessful, you will receive notification of this within a maximum of four weeks after your interview.

We will always let you know the outcome of an interview. Please be aware that during our busiest recruitment campaigns it may take a little longer to contact you.

Pre-Employment Checks

Once you have accepted an offer of employment, you will receive a welcome email with your contract and further information relating to the position.

Please sign the contract, complete all employment documents included in the welcome email and send everything back to us.

At this stage references will be taken up and we will require you to complete a DBS (formally CRB) application before you start work with us.

References

We require all references that span your last five years of employment. This should include a reference from your most recent/current employer. If you are currently studying, or have studied in the last five years, we can accept a reference from your tutor or the educational institution.

Please note that we are unable to accept character references or references from personal email addresses such as Hotmail or Yahoo.

Safeguarding Commitment

As part of our commitment to protecting and safeguarding children and young persons, we require all staff that may come into contact with children to complete an application form and obtain an enhanced DBS prior to appointment.

We will send you a DBS application form along with your welcome email. Please ensure that you return the form and supporting documents as soon as possible as the Disclosure may take up to three months to process.

Job Alerts

Once signed in, you will also be able to set up job alerts to notify you of suitable vacancies via email. To do this, you’ll need to take the following steps:

 

  • Click ‘View my account’
  • Scroll to ‘Jobsearch Agents’ and click ‘Add’
  • Modify the search fields depending on the location/job type you are interested in and click ‘Search’. 
  • Type a memorable name for the search such as “EFL” or “Head office” in the field named “Search agent name”
  • Set the alert frequency and end date and save.
  • Repeat the process to add multiple searches. 
  • Searches can be amended or deleted at any time. Return to ‘View my account’ to do this.
