Investing in your own development is critical to ensuring you maximise the impact you have in your classroom and on your students.
Whatever your language level, interests or stage in career, our expertly-designed courses will spark new thinking, develop your professional understanding, and encourage powerful exchange with a global community of teachers and experts.
learning the bell way
Our courses are delivered by highly-experienced teacher trainers. The team includes a host of leading ELT experts and published educational authors, who run projects all over the world and speak at industry-leading events.
In addition to the core development course, teachers get a weekly guest lecture and choose two workshops a week, such as: ‘Using film in the classroom’, ‘Motivating students’ or ‘Different ways to use songs in the classroom’.
Our courses are eligible for ERASMUS+ funding
If you are a teacher in Europe ask your institution if you can apply for Erasmus+ funding to cover the cost of your course. All Bell teacher development courses are eligible.
Why develop with Bell?
Here are just a few reasons why we think Bell is the right place for you.
Track record of success
You will learn and observe from some of the best teachers and teacher trainers in the field. Bell is ranked in the top 2% of English language schools in the UK, as published in the EL Gazette 2019, which is based on our latest British Council inspection.
Our latest Independent School Inspectorate (ISI) report also rated our teaching as ‘excellent and results in high levels of student progress.’
We are continually innovating at Bell. With the support of our academic team, our teachers identify new trends or challenges to investigate through classroom research. Our findings inform new strategies in our everyday teaching.
Many of our teacher trainers are recognised internationally and are published authors of well-known coursebooks, with many more contributing to industry journals such as Modern English Teacher.
Global teacher community
In the last year, we have welcomed teacher trainees from 47 different countries or territories.
You will have the opportunity to join and connect with a global community of teachers, learn from each other and share experiences and insights from different backgrounds and cultures. You will also experience British culture and can share this with your students at home.
