On the road to World Cup glory with Bell’s new football academy

A professional coach from one of the UK’s oldest football clubs will be tutoring aspiring soccer stars this summer

Reading FC is one of the oldest football clubs in Britain, founded in 1871, just twelve years after the founding of prestigious Wellington College. This year, Bell students from Wellington will get a chance to learn from the professionals as part of the Summer Explorer football academy for students aged 12-17. Students will follow in the footsteps of soccer superstars such as South Korean World Cup goalscorer Seol Ki-hyeon as they enjoy a training session and tour at the Madejski Stadium, followed by a presentation of certificates.

In total, over a two-week course, students will receive 18 hours of tuition from Dan, our professional coach from Reading FC Community Trust. Coaching will cover technical areas of the game including dribbling, passing, shooting, tacking, heading and goalkeeping as well as teamwork, football vocabulary and developing tactical understanding of the game. Combined with stimulating language lessons, exciting study tours and lots more fun learning activities, it’s going to be an exciting summer to remember!
