#mybellstory: meet Eduardo

Bell is a place that people come back to.

Today, we received a surprise visit from Eduardo, a Brazilian student who studied at Bell Cambridge in 1996. Eduardo was at Bell for 10 months, studying general English, and spoke fondly of his time studying in Cambridge: “I made many friends at Bell. It was the best experience."

He now runs a construction company back in Brazil (Ecocil) and uses the language skills he learnt at Bell to help with his business. Eduardo keeps in touch with his host family (he was on his way to visit them when we spoke to him) and the friends he made at Bell. He told us that he’s still in contact with over 60 friends he met at Bell and that they have a Facebook group set up to stay up-to-date with each other’s news.

Eduardo told us that Bell experience isn't just about improving your English: "I must say that learning English was the least I got from my time at Bell. It's all about the experience of living abroad, making friends for life and learning the world's diversity."

It was a pleasure to meet Eduardo and hear how he used the skills he learnt at Bell to help him thrive in his career. It was equally wonderful to hear how he still speaks to so many friends he made here. At Bell, we don’t just help students learn English, we help them build an international community of friends.

Home to Bell for nearly 60 years, at Bell Cambridge we teach English to students aged 16 and over, prepare international students for university in the UK and train the next generation of teachers.
