Bell's Young Learner Academies: New for 2018

Bell’s exciting new academy programme launches next year as part of our Summer Explorer course at Bloxham, Wellington College and The Leys.

Students can choose from:

Wellington College:

esports Academy
In this innovative academy students are taught by industry professionals, who teach students how computer games are a unique way to develop their English skills. Led by Jason Dean, who has taken part in the CyberOlympics, students explore the digital and computer game world, past, present and future.

Football Academy
Taught by FA qualified coaches from Reading FC, students learn aspect of the beautiful game, practising through refereed matches. The Academy also includes a tour of the Madejski stadium, home Reading FC.

Horse-riding Academy
Led by professional trainer’s students are taught horse riding and care at a nearby equestrian school. Students also take part in a final ‘tack and turnout’ show taking away a certificate and rosette for their achievements.

Performing Arts Academy
Taught by an experience performing arts specialist, students will improve their theatrical skills, finishing with an end-of-course production.

Bloxham School: Art and Design Academy
Perfect for budding artists who want to improve their skills. Led by an experience art teacher, students can develop their personal creativity, exhibiting their art work at the end of the course.

The Leys School: Tennis Academy
Coached by qualified LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) coaches, students play on a variety of surfaces available at The Leys and will get to practice their skills through regular matches.

Johnathan adds "The academies are a new and exciting step forward for the activity programme we offer on our Summer Explorer courses. These academies will allow students to immerse themselves into an activity they love. The Academies will not only develop their skills but their English language and confidence to use the language outside the classroom."

Our Summer Explorer courses offer a holistic language experience which is immersive, flexible and lots of fun! Students explore the English language and develop life skills through lessons, study tours and a combination of small-group and whole-school activities. Our Explorer courses use a project-based approach to learning.
