Bell announces resignation of chief executive

After three and a half years leading Bell, the internationally-renowned education business, Greg Hoile has resigned as chief executive.

Upon making the announcement, Greg thanked staff for their support and for teaching him so much during his tenure. He said: “Bell is a wonderful organisation, with a rich heritage and fantastic people. We have all worked hard to achieve a lot - we’ve developed new courses and products and extended the range of our operations, with results to be proud of.”

Chairman, Peter Phippen said: “On behalf of Bell I’d like to thank Greg for his contribution over the last three and a half years and we wish him every success in his career. Bell is in exceptionally good shape and we have a number of very exciting developments underway across the organisation, including at our schools in Cambridge and London. We will continue to develop our plans for significant growth.”

Recruitment to fill the chief executive role will begin in due course. Bell has appointed Judith Haste as interim managing director. Judith, finance director at Bell for three years, is a senior qualified accountant with strong international commercial experience.

She said: “Bell is going from strength to strength thanks to the dedication and hard work of our staff. During this interim period, I will work closely with the senior management team, operational teams and in conjunction with the Board as we continue to deliver our strategy and operational plans to achieve further growth of Bell.”
