Keys and check-out information

You will be provided with a room key on arrival, which will also give you access to other areas of the college. Please take care of this key and return it to the Porters’ Lodge at the end of your stay.

Check-out is at 09.00 on Saturday morning. It can sometimes be possible to book an additional night if you depart on a Sunday, please contact us to enquire about this possibility as early as possible.

If your return journey is after you have to check out of your Homerton room you will have to find your own accommodation. There is a large number of bed and breakfast establishments in the area but you are advised to book as early as possible as Cambridge gets very busy in the summer season.

Safe and secure site

Homerton College is a very safe and secure site. Each room has its own lock and the corridors are also only accessible with a key. It should be safe to leave valuables in your room but the rooms do not have separate safes. When travelling it is always advisable not to bring any very valuable items such as jewellery or large amounts of cash.

There are cashpoints near the college which take all major credit or debit cards and there are, of course, many banks in the centre of Cambridge.

The Porters’ Lodge

The Porters’ Lodge should be the first place to go to if you have any problems with your room or any college facility or if you have a medical emergency. They will then call the appropriate person to deal with the problem. They are also very knowledgeable about transport and facilities in the local area. All the porters have first-aid training.
