Become a Homestay Host

Each year we welcome thousands of students to learn English, study for a qualification or prepare for University. Could you offer them a home while they are here?

If you are based near our Cambridge or London schools, you could earn extra money on your spare room, while meeting people from all over the world.

What is a homestay?

We place students to stay with you in your home while they study at Bell

Why should I become a homestay host?

By becoming a homestay host you will:

earn extra income
meet people from around the world and share fascinating stories and experiences from your different cultures and backgrounds
introduce students to British life and culture and help with their language learning

Hosting is a rewarding experience for both you and our students, so register your home and someone from our accommodation team will get in touch to discuss it further with you.

Hosting in Cambridge

If you live up to a 35-minute bus journey or 35-minute walk from our Cambridge school you could earn between £103 - £276 per week.

All we ask is that students:

have their own bedroom
can use a shared bathroom
are provided with breakfast with an option to also provide evening meals and weekend lunches
have access to wifi

All homestay hosts are visited by our accommodation team who personally place each student when they join Bell, to ensure a smooth stay for both of you.

Hosting in London

Do you live up to a 30 minute journey on foot or by tube from Bell London? If so, then you could become a homestay host for students at our London school.

If you have a spare room, you could earn between £154 - £246 per week for hosting a student in your house.

We just request that:

the student has their own room
you are able to provide breakfast with an option to also provide evening meals
students have access to a bathroom
you can provide wifi access
