Daniel is a recent graduate of our CELTA course at Bell Cambridge.

Read about his experience of both the course and studying at Bell.

‘I would definitely recommend Bell to anyone wanting to study English abroad. In my view it is a model school, excellent teachers, full support from staff members and good quality facilities’.

Having been an English teacher since 2000, Daniel now works at Cambridge University Press (CUP) based in Brazil. Following a recommendation from his director he arrived at Bell on a CELTA course to help progress his career within CUP. ‘The knowledge I have acquired…will enable me to give support to teachers of English in Brazil’.

His experience at Bell was ‘wonderful…the structure of the school, its facilities, was really impressive. Anna, Francoise and the teachers…were really experienced’.

The CELTA itself, as Daniel admits is ‘very demanding and stressful, but there were several delightful moments that balanced the demands [of the] assignments and teaching planning’.

During the course teachers practise their teaching on real-life ELT students, perhaps a scary prospect, but as Daniel says, ‘the students were so nice and supportive that we all had a good time’.

For those thinking of studying for the CELTA qualification, Daniel has some wise advice ‘study very hard before the course. I’d recommend at least a year of studies before the course. Read all teacher development books possible and be prepared for a very demanding course.’

Although the course is intense Daniel also talks about the ‘wonderful learning moments, those will be the ones that make this course the best experience of one’s life’.
