Cambridge is a beautiful city famous for its punting, colleges and history. However, there is a lot more of Cambridge to discover! We asked our Bell Cambridge team to tell us their favourite places in the city, so you can visit them during your stay with us.


Cambridge is home to a wide range of fantastic restaurants serving cuisines from all over the world. Our favourites include:


North African cuisine served in a colourful restaurant, located on one of Cambridge’s most interesting and lively streets, Mill Road.

The Cambridge Chop House

Overlooking King’s College, choose from a selection of great British classics and steaks. Top tip: Try the famous Cambridge Burnt Cream (a version of crème brûlée) for dessert!

Spend an afternoon in one of Cambridge’s many independent cafés, such as:

Espresso Library

Serving artesian coffee and fresh, nutritious food, Espresso Library is the perfect place to go and relax with your friends. Check out the interesting artwork and bicycles which decorate the walls.

Relevant Record Café

Food and music come together in this independent record shop and café.  Browse through the large collection of vinyl and stop for coffee and cake.

Hot Numbers

Visit Hot Numbers for fresh roasted coffee, delicious food and live music. Every Thursday evening, at their Gwydir Street location, they have a live jazz band playing.

Cambridge Corn Exchange

Go to Cambridge’s main concert venue for live music, comedy, dance and theatre.

Jesus Green

In the summer, go for a swim in Jesus Green’s lido pool and sunbathe in the park.

The Mill Pond

A must-visit for anyone staying in Cambridge in the summer. Take a picnic and watch the famous punts go by.

A British institution, there is a brilliant variety of pubs in Cambridge. You don’t need to drink alcohol when visiting – all pubs serve a wide range of soft drinks.  We recommend:

The Anchor

Located on the banks of the River Cam, visit The Anchor for modern British food and views of the punts, Queen’s College and the Mathematical Bridge.
