Maria Sofia Meirelles
Graphic Designer & Website Coordinator
Ever since she can remember, Maria has been an artist. As a child, she would often spend the whole day just drawing, letting her creativity run wild. Her passion for the arts led her to undertake 6 years of painting classes, as well as working 6 Summers at the Walk&Talk Arts festival, where she supported artists during their artistic residences.
Gaining a degree in Graphic Design at the College of Arts and Design of Matosinhos and Masters in Graphic Design & Typography at Anglia Ruskin University, Maria is now an accomplished and experienced artist and graphic designer. She has since had her work featured in the 2021 and 2022 Fedrigoni Agenda.
Today, her special interests in the arts are illustration, typefaces, and museums.
In her free time, Maria likes to read, listen to music, paint and hike. She is also an avid volunteer, giving her time to charities such as The United Nations, now-u, Post Pals, CLIC Sargent and Sports Connections Foundation. In 2020, she received a Gold Volunteer Award from the Anglia Ruskin Students Union, for more than 100 hours of volunteer work. She was also the Volunteer of the Year for the academic year of 2020/21. Not bad!
