Discussion Forums: Frequently Asked Questions

Discussion Forums Teacher and Student Forums

What is a Discussion Forum?
In a discussion forum you write a question, a comment or an answer and log into the website maybe a few days, a week or even a month later to see if someone has replied.

Can I use my own language?
No, we (and others who log in) will expect you to use English

What sort of topics will be discussed in the Forums?
Some of them will be run by teachers as part of a course, but in most of them the topics discussed will be up to those who log in. Some of the areas we expect to have are:

  • Former Bell Students maintaining contact with each other and discussing Bell and Bell courses
  • Grammar and Vocabulary Questions
  • Teachers' questions
  • Cinema, books and what's going on in the world.
  • Business English and Business Questions
  • Questions and discussion from people who are coming on a Bell course
  • Feedback and suggestions on Bell Online products

Will they be open to everybody?
There will be different rooms and different forums. There will be general forums for teachers and for students that are open to everybody. There will also be some chat areas and some forums that are only open to restricted groups, such as former students, Bell employees, students enrolled on the online FCE course, registered users of Bell Online and so on.

Will they be available 24 hours a day?
The discussion forums will be available all the time.

Bulletin Board Glossary:
A glossary of terms is clearly a huge area, but here are some of the more common terms you are likely to encounter.
